Looking for a great every day carry (EDC) knife? My top two production EDC knives are the Spyderco Endura and the Benchmade Osborne 940. Spend a little extra and get a knife you can depend on.
I’ve carried the Benchmade since 2003. It has cut kindling, Christmas presents, skinned animals, cut boxes, functioned as an outdoor kitchen knife, cut tin cans and all the other things an EDC can be. Unfortunately, that first knife I bought was lost somewhere in my travels. While deciding whether or not to replace it, I settled for the lower-cost Spyderco Endura and was very pleased. It wasn’t a Benchmade, but was exceptional for the price.
Now that I have the Benchmade again the Spyderco Endura has found a loving place as a backup in one of my packs.
If you are looking for a reliable every day carry knife, you can’t go wrong with either of these two blades.

Paw Paw trees don’t tolerate much light in their first few years of growth, as they normally germinate under the forest canopy. Mine has a home in the bathroom, in which it sits in darkness most of the day. It only has one leaf because I let it dry out, but it is slowly recovering. I’ll plant it outdoors next year.
